i am sure that the basis of this conversation is not criticism towards the organisers of DOT 2010 in Sweden. We are all happy that they are doing it and i am sure that it will be a great match with deserving winners.

but since there are so many thoughts on total time matches and even wrong interpretation of Total Time matches discussed here, i think it is an important thing to list the facts here, so people understant the differences.

Cheers Phil

Thats right Phil
A started this tread for that reason, to discuss + and - of the scoring systems.

Because its a SASS rule its not sure its the best way, sass rules changes every year  Grin

If a find any Q or misconception a try to put in the facts with a link to the source.

The wire is living, if you start or answer a tread.

First post on the new wire... Grin
I am all for totalt time... but mainly because that's the way we have always done it in the scandinavian wilderness. Mre tradtion than thoughjt. I beat Nashville shooting Rank at DOT-09 and whupped hiis little sorry butt (and everyone elses also in fact) shooting total time at the Norwegian Nationals this year. I'm not sure about the hanging upside down trick Ray sugests, but i do agree taht the top shooters will still be top shooters whatever way a match Is scored.
I just find my self shooting slightly slower and controld with rank, than with total time. An possibly a bit  more gamey.... hmmm....

Now... getting the requierd permits to get our guns from norway to the netherlands is still taking time, so for DOT next year i guess I'll just have to claim i only shoot for fun  Wink
